Merano
The spa town of South Tyrol
Merano is situated in one of the most climatically favourable places of Europe. The city (325 meters above sea level) is shielded from impressively high mountain chains. Merano is a world-famous health resort, surrounded by beautiful promenades (150 meters from our house), car parks, the Mediterranean Botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle and the well-known Thermal Baths of Merano.
In the centre of Merano (5 minutes on foot from our Residence) you can find Italian and International fashion. In an arcaded street, named ”Lauben”, you find famous chain stores but also little boutiques which offer exclusive Designer fashion.

- Every Friday from 8 .00 am to 1.00 pm - big weekly market
- Every Saturday from 8.00 am to 12.00 am – farmers ‘market
- Every last Saturday of the month- flea market on the Winter Promenade (300 meters from our Residence)
The Trauttmansdorff Castle which was a former holiday residence of empress Sissi and the Botanic Gardens around the Castle with blossoming Mediterranean plants are a real highlight of Merano.
